Welcome to our revolutionary music program

Welcome to our revolutionary music program, a collaboration between the Charleston Bilingual Academy and the Little Mozart Music Program. We believe in the transformative power of music education, especially when introduced at an early age. Our program is designed to provide our students with a comprehensive musical experience while fostering the development of essential values such as confidence, resilience, leadership, self-discipline, and a love for beauty.

Learning music from a young age offers numerous benefits that extend far beyond the realm of music itself. Scientific research shows that music education enhances cognitive development, improves memory, and strengthens problem-solving skills. By engaging in musical activities, our students exercise their brains in unique ways, promoting intellectual growth and creativity.

One of the core values we emphasize through our music program is confidence. Through regular practice, performances, and ensemble participation, our students begin to develop a strong sense of self-assurance. They learn to express themselves through music, gaining the confidence to perform in front of an audience. This confidence spills over into other areas of their lives, enabling them to tackle other challenges.

Our Values

Confidence, one of the key values emphasized at the studio, is nurtured through a supportive and encouraging environment. Recitals, concerts, and competitions become the stages upon which their talents are honed and showcased. Through these experiences, students build belief in their abilities, enabling them to face challenges with poise and self-assurance.

Self-discipline is instilled in every student. The practice routines, structured lessons, and challenging repertoire customized to each student  require commitment and perseverance. By cultivating discipline, students develop a strong work ethic that extends beyond the realm of music. They begin to understand that excellence is the result of consistent effort and determination.

Leadership is another core value. Students are encouraged to take on leadership roles within ensembles and various musical groups. They learn the importance of collaboration, effective communication, and guiding others towards a common goal. These leadership skills transcend the boundaries of music and empower students to become influential figures in other domains.

Resilience is fostered within each student. Music, like life, is filled with challenges and setbacks. However, through the guidance of their teachers, students begin to embrace these obstacles as growth opportunities. They develop the tenacity to overcome setbacks, adapt to changing circumstances, and emerge stronger and more determined.

Our program also aims to nurture a love for beauty. Music, as an art form, touches the deepest recesses of our souls in a way that words cannot. Through exposure to the greatest composers of classical music, and with pieces at their performances level, our students develop an appreciation for the beauty of sound and artistic expression. They learn to listen attentively, discern nuances, and cultivate a lifelong love for the arts. This appreciation for beauty enriches their lives, providing a source of inspiration and emotional well-being.

Our experienced and passionate music faculty are committed to providing exceptional instruction, mentorship, and performance opportunities to our students. Our faculty understand the power of music to shape young minds and hearts, and they are dedicated to unlocking the full potential of each student.

By joining forces with The Charleston Bilingual Academy, we have created a unique and revolutionary music program that integrates seamlessly into our students' academic and extracurricular pursuits. The Little Mozart Music Program offers an innovative, transformative and comprehensive music education that extends beyond the classroom.

Classes and Tuition
Little Mozart at CBA

Little Mozart Music Program at the Charleston Bilingual Academy is excited to return to group classes for the 2023-2024 school year. Children experience higher motivation levels in group classes than in individual lessons, especially for the younger players.

In individual lessons, students experience playing for their teachers, who correct them and guide them. However, they never perform in front of others until they have a recital or concert. But with the Masterclass model of group classes, students play, learn and are corrected in front of not only their teachers, but also of their classmates. This creates a dynamic of cooperation that builds confidence and responsibility in young learners.

With our model of group classes, students learn how to play for the teacher, and develop the capacity to listen to themselves and others, and coordinate their part within a larger ensemble.

Be part of something bigger than yourself. With the Masterclass model of group classes, students learn that they have an individual and essential part of the success of the ensemble. This awareness creates in them the sense of responsibility toward a larger enterprise, motivating them to strive together and work as a team in achieving their goals.

Why Music?

There is evidence to suggest that learning music as a child can have a positive impact on language processing in the brain. These improvements likely stem from overall improvements in auditory processing skills. Auditory processing refers to the ability to interpret and make sense of sounds, including the sounds of speech.

School Calendar

Dear Parents, our calendar is similar but not exact to CCSD’s and CBA’s calendars, please read carefully.
