REGISTRATION AND AGREEMENT
FOR CHARLESTON BILINGUAL ACADEMY STUDENTS
This agreement outlines the terms and conditions of your child’s participation in Charleston International Music School.
PARENT - STUDENTS AGREEMENT
Please read the following statements carefully
Once you click “You agree with the CIMS norms sign this agreement, you hereby affirm that you have read and agree with the Charleston International Music School Agreement and will ensure you child complies therewith.
I understand that this program is a year-round school program and has the purpose of teaching my children music, the same way as a music school.
Enrollment
I understand that the services of Charleston International Music School (CIMS) are engaged by mutual consent, and that either CIMS or I reserve the right to terminate any or all services at any time. If at any time my child’s conduct, musical progress, or cooperation with CIMS teachers are not in keeping with the CIMS requirements and regulations, I understand that the CIMS leadership reserves the right to expel my child.
Further, I agree that in the event that I cannot continue to support the CIMS relating to the progress of my child, I agree to withdraw my child from the CIMS in a quiet and orderly fashion. I understand and accept that if I withdraw or are requested to withdraw my child, no refund of registration fees or used tuition will be made.
Discipline
I believe that discipline is a necessary aspect of our child’s education. I understand that we have the responsibility as parents to actively support the authority, philosophy, objectives, policies, and discipline of CIMS.
Practicing
In order to achieve excellence in music, practice has to become a discipline and a habit, NO PRACTICING = NO PROGRESS. It is required that parents help and encourage their child to practice at least 3 - 4 times a week. The amount of time will be specified by the teacher(s), according to the age and level of the child.
In case of an emergency
In case of emergency or serious illness, we request CIMS contact us first. If the CIMS, or appointed chaperone is unable to contact us, CIMS has my permission to make whatever arrangements deemed necessary for my child’s treatment. If the emergency is life-threatening and we cannot be reached, the physician has permission to act accordingly absolving the CIMS of any liability.
Liability
In the case of an accident, allergies or serious illness, I/we request CIMS to contact me/us but we also waive and release CIMS from any liability in regards to these circumstances. If CIMS is unable to contact me/us when circumstances indicate immediate action is required, CIMS may make whatever arrangements are required in its best judgment.
Parental Commitment
It is my commitment to help provide a healthy and positive environment for our children. I agree that we will in no case complain to other parents (including social media), but will register only complaints first with the person with whom I have the issue. I understand that if the issue is not resolved, then it can be taken to the CIMS Director.
I agree to abide by CIMS established policies and to support these policies with a positive attitude. I understand that if at any time CIMS determines in its sole discretion that my actions do not support cooperation and commitment to the Home and Program working together, the CIMS has the right to request the withdrawal of my child.
I understand that this Agreement is not a contract and does not contractually bind CIMS and is subject to change without notice. Admission to the Program is a privilege, not a right. By signing this Agreement, the undersigned agrees that they have read, understand and agree to be bound by this Agreement and the Charleston International Music School.
No Make-up For Group Classes
Groups classes work like a school, for that reason we highly recommend that our students not miss classes. Nevertheless, if classes are canceled at CBA for a storm or other outside reasons, those classes will be made up. However, payments for classes must be made consistently each month.
Private lessons Make-up
Emergencies and health issues do arise, therefore making up classes will be arranged as the schedule allows, mutually. Because students and parents are busy, in some cases the class(es) will be made up the following month(s).
Tuition

Group Classes: Our music classes run for the whole school year and will be paid by month $140. Tuition is based on 1 hour group class per week and according to the CBA calendar.

Private Lessons: Private lessons are available the school year-round, subject to instructor availability. Lessons are offered in 30, 45, or 60-minute sessions and are scheduled after the group classes, beginning at 4:30 p.m., following the CBA calendar. Registration fee
A $60 one-time non-refundable registration fee is required every beginning of the school year. This fee is mostly for CBA and to provide sheet music and teaching materials to students (rental instruments are not included).
Late fee: A $25 late fee will be applied if payment is not received by the 5th day of the month.
Recital fee
A $35 recital fee will be charged per student performing in a recital.
Piano accompaniment fee
Depending on the instrument or piece, students might need a piano accompaniment. The fee for the accompaniment will be established with the pianist and communicated to parents. All fees will be paid directly to the school.
