Enrollment and Tuition

Enrollment/Tuition Agreement for Academic Year 2019-2020

  • Lessons are offers in 30, 45 or 60 minutes weekly on a scheduled basis from September through May, and by appointment from June through August.

  • Schedule for Academic School Year from September l, 2019 to June 6, 2020:

The Academic School Year from September 1, 2019 to June 6, 2020 is similar to the calendar of Charleston County Schools District but not exactly the same, please make sure to identify the differences.

  1. November 25 - 30 Thanksgiving - Fall Break

  2. December 23 - January 3 Christmas (Lessons will resume on Monday January 6)

  3. April 6 - 11 Spring Break

  1. From September 1st through June 6th full tuition for the month is due by the first week of the month. If tuition is not received by the 10th of the month, a $25 late charge will be added to your account. There are no refunds for tuition payments received.

  2. Lessons are $70 per hour for one student.

  3. There are many options for the payment of lessons, let me know your choice by September:

    1. Check (made out to: Charleston International Music School)

    2. Automatic Bank Draft

    3. Cash

    4. Venmo (copy code or ask me to share it with you).

    5. PayPal ( 2.9% will be added to the tuition)

  • For those using the Automatic Bank Draft or PayPal option, it is recommended that you employ the use of our Equal Payment Plan; however, Check and Cash options may use this feature as well.

  • Equal Payment Plan: during the 9 months (plus the 1er of June) of lessons, there are 35 lessons ( 35 x 70 = $ 2,450.00). Divided by 9 months = $ 0000

Make-Up Lessons

  1. In the case that you will not be in town during a certain week(s) or have previous commitments, please plan ahead for make-up lessons.

  2. If you miss a lesson(s), the month(s) before, and therefore have a makeup class(es) pending, the current full month of tuition is still due.

Rescheduling and Making up Lessons: Emergencies and health issues do arise, therefore making up classes will be arranged as the schedule allows, mutually. Because the students and parents are busy, in some cases the class(es) will be made up the following month(s).

However, payments for classes must be made consistently each month for the entire number of lessons. It is possible to schedule or to make-up lessons during the holidays, as mutually acceptable.

Exceptions: No-shows or last-minute cancellations, (within 24 hours, unless it is an emergency.) cannot be rescheduled.

Master Classes

  • Master Classes are $25 per student (only for those who are old enough to attend).

  • Master Classes will be scheduled throughout the academic year.

  • In order to achieve excellence in music (or anything else), practice has to become a discipline. It is required that parents help and encourage their child to practice every day. The amount of time will be specified, according to the age and level of the child.

  • Students are to come prepared for lessons. In case they are not, they will be guided on how to practice and remain in the studio practicing. It is important for the students to grasp that they have to do their part before coming, so the work we do together is beneficial.

Summer lessons, from June 7nd through August 31st

  • Private lessons during the Summer are by appointment and tuition for these lessons can be paid in advance, in groups of 1 or more lessons.
